Who is our good colleague Gaurav Dhawan?

With a solid and wanted competence in his luggage

Gaurav fell for Norway when he worked here sporadically over six years. He was here 4-5 months at a time in connection with an IAM project for a larger Norwegian business. Eventually, he was able to persuade his lovely wife to move from India. With a solid and wanted competence, he was quickly given a permanent job here in Norway that made the dream possible.

A professional environment of experts

After a while in Norway, Gaurav found his way to Cloudworks. He had worked with several people in the company before, and there was a mutual respect for each other’s expertise. The market was similar to today, characterized by the rapid development of technology and digitalization, with a critical lack of knowledge and experience in IT security. Cloudworks was in the process of building up a professional environment of experts in cloud services integration, identity and access management, as well as information security. He had big beliefs in this and a desire to be a part of it.

Gaurav works as a senior IAM consultant in Cloudworks. He motivates from helping clients with their challenges while continuing to develop and build expertise in his field. Great influence in the company’s further development

Gaurav motivates by the impact each of us has in the company’s operations, as well as on further development. This way of running the company was a strategic decision made when Cloudworks was founded. The corporate structure is flat, and the information flow is transparent. With a social interaction platform as the company’s internal communication tool, all employees are encouraged to share, comment and contribute both socially and professionally in each other’s work every day. This is value-creating and especially crucial to the company’s culture since most of us work physically with customers. What was it with Norway?

What was it about Norway that led him to take up his roots in India, get his wife Daisy to pause her started career in marketing and journalism, and make a Norwegian out of his 17 months old son Avnesh?

It was the Norwegian values, culture, and respect for people and nature that first and foremost attracted me. Having worked here for an extended period of time, I also experienced a balance between work and leisure. It must be one of the best in the world. Plus, I love winter here!

Gaurav eagerly tells, on fluent Norwegian, that the transition with moving here went smoothly since he already knew the country. Usually, the food, social culture, weather, and language are experienced as a shock when moving from India to Norway. Gaurav, on the other hand, had several positive experiences in the first year. He quickly noticed that most people quickly left the office when the clock showed 16, and the cars stopped automatically if he wanted to cross the road. Also, he was pleasantly surprised that even though he lived in the capital, he was close to nature.

Love to lubricate skis

Gaurav has been skiing a lot during the winter and has posted some pictures of himself in the ski slopes at Workplace. Always enthusiastic! He had never skied before coming to Norway. Now he loves the concept of finding the right lubrication to optimize the slip. This year he also learned how to snowboard and loved the speed and the feeling of floating on snow.

Gaurav is passionate about information security and is pleased that he chose Cloudworks as his employer. He has strong faith in the company’s future, the way it is run and the people who work there.
