From lone IAM wolf to the professional community in Cloudworks!

From lone IAM wolf to the professional community in Cloudworks!

During his 17 years as an IT consultant in Karmøy municipality in Norway, Anders has developed identity solutions for the municipality, and has become a self-taught IAM expert. That caught Cloudworks' attention!

Anders Magnus Rikala Olsen is one of Cloudworks' newest additions and started as an IAM consultant on 1 October. He will mainly work remotely from Haugesund in Norway - and managing director Alexander Friedensburg is very excited.

– The fact that we can have employees who work from anywhere, both in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, opens up the possibility that we can bring in the very best workforce, without geographical limitations, says Alexander.

– And that has really paid off! Anders has very exciting expertise from his work in the municipality, in addition to the fact that he seems like an incredibly nice person who I think will fit in well with us.

Found like-minded people

Anders says that he is looking forward to entering a professional environment with like-minded people, after perhaps having been a little alone with the IAM work in the municipality.

I look forward to working with many technically skilled colleagues who have the same interest in information security as me, Anders says.

As an IT consultant in Karmøy municipality, Anders developed several solutions for identity and access management.

Among other things, he created an identity solution that was used to automatically create Teams in the municipalities and administrative units in Azure AD, and to grant and manage access to common areas and manage machines' resource access. In addition, he set up an identity solution to create Feide users for teachers and students.

– I have been working with IAM for a long time, but I have a lot to learn. So, I look forward to getting new, fresh views on things.

Experience from the other side

Alexander and Anders agree that it will be useful that Anders has experienced sitting on the other side "of the table" when he has to work on developing solutions for Cloudworks' customers.

He brings very useful expertise with him, as he has worked for many years with the broad spectrum of needs within all services in a municipality, says managing director Alexander Friedensburg.

– We work a lot with public clients, not least municipalities, and having employees with us who know the context and have been on the other side is extremely valuable to us.

Anders has already spent a couple of weeks at the head office in Oslo to get to know the job and the colleagues there. Now it is all about diving into the world of NetIQ and learning more about the customers' challenges.
